The Electronic Privacy Information Center has filed a lawsuit in order to have the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration release records on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s role in warrantless surveillance under former President George W. Bush's administration, Bloomberg BNA reports. “The public has an exceptional interest in knowing the extent to which Judge Kavanaugh was involved in the secret expansion of the Patriot Act and the warrantless surveillance program, and whether he has lied to or misled the Senate about his involvement in sworn testimony,” EPIC said in its complaintEditor's note: April Doss, CIPP/US, writes about what Kavanaugh's nomination means for privacy in this piece for Privacy Perspectives.
