The New York Times reports South Korean efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 are invading citizens' personal privacy. The government has publicized the personal information of infected individuals, as well as used contact-tracing technology to indicate when a person is in the proximity of someone infected. The open access to information has begun hurting people's reputations as their data has been used against them to create misinformation campaigns.
