The European Data Protection Supervisor, University of Rome Tor Vergata and Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli will co-host the 2019 Internet Privacy Engineering Network workshop Wednesday in Rome, Italy. The workshop will focus on the top technology to incorporate data protection by design in order to flesh out a better understanding of the concept, the EDPS said in a news release. The event will feature professionals from academia, industry and public authorities discussing areas such as anonymization, deidentification and other privacy engineering topics. “A common understanding of what is considered to be state of the art in this area is therefore essential, and will contribute to ensuring the creation of new and smart design in processes, technologies and business models that will ensure effective protection of individuals and their dignity,” EDPS Assistant Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiórowski said.
