The Office of the European Data Protection Supervisor submitted opinions regarding data protection standards in the European Commission's crime data sharing agreements with Latin American countries. The opinions concern agreements with authorities in Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru to share data with Europol. The EDPS's opinions seek to "provide advice on further developing data protection safeguards in these future international agreements so that individuals' personal data is protected according to EU standards."
