The European Data Protection Supervisor published its opinion on the European Commission's outline for the prevention of money laundering and terrorism funding. According to the EDPS' statement, data protection is "a golden standard" that must be considered by the commission as it moves forward with its prevention and regulatory plans, adding that principles of data minimization, purpose limitation and data protection by design must be included in any legislative proposals.
