The European Data Protection Board has issued its report on the annual EU-U.S. Privacy Shield review. Regarding U.S. participation, the EDPB commended the efforts of the U.S. Department of Commerce and Federal Trade Commission, but it found "a certain lack of oversight in substance" on the U.S. side overall. The EDPB added, "Other areas that require further attention are the application of the Privacy Shield requirements regarding onward transfers, [human resource] data and the application of the principles when it comes to processors, as well as the recertification process."
