The European Data Protection Board published draft guidance on the use of certifications as tools for transfers. The draft guidelines are supplemental to guidance on Chapter V of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and seek to outline requirements for accreditation, certification criteria and commitments to adequate safeguards in transfers to non-European Economic Area countries. The EDPB opened a public consultation on the draft that will conclude Sept. 30.
