The European Data Protection Board released a statement on processing personal data as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. EDPB Chair Andrea Jelinek said data protection rules such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation do not hinder the fight against the virus. "However, I would like to underline that, even in these exceptional times, the data controller must ensure the protection of the personal data of the data subjects," Jelinek said. The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office released its own statement about COVID-19 and additional information for data controllers.
