Hungary's decision to pause EU General Data Protection Regulation obligations during COVID-19 is worrying the European Data Protection Board, Euractiv reports. According to EDPB Chair Andrea Jelinek, the board "considers further explanation necessary" as it relates to why Hungary opted for suspension, asking for details on the orders' "necessity and proportionality." Jelinek added that a suspension like Hungary's is "not recommended" by the EDPB.
