During its latest plenary session, the European Data Protection Board adopted a dispute resolution decision in the Irish Data Protection Commission's case against WhatsApp Ireland. The EDPB sought to address the lack of consensus between the DPC and the concerned supervisory authorities that objected to portions of the commission's findings against WhatsApp. The EDPB told the DPC to adopt its final decision against WhatsApp "without undue delay and at the latest one month after the EDPB has notified its decision." Editor's note: IAPP Staff Writer Joe Duball wrote about the dispute-resolution mechanism under the EU General Data Protection Regulation for The Privacy Advisor.
