The European Data Protection Board adopted its 2021–2023 Strategy during its 43rd plenary session. The EDPB set out its strategic objectives for the upcoming years centered around four major pillars, including the advancement of harmonization and facilitating compliance, as well as supporting effective enforcement and cooperation between national supervisory authorities. During the session, the EDPB also issued a statement on the end of the Brexit transition period and adopted guidelines on the restriction of data subject rights under Article 23 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
