Dutch privacy advocacy group Foundation for Market Information Research, Stichting Onderzoek Marktinformatie, is suing TikTok on behalf of parents alleging insufficient data protection over children's accounts, according to Deutsche Welle. SOMI Lawyer Douwe Linders will seek 1.4 billion euros to settle claims that TikTok violates the EU General Data Protection Regulation with a perceived lack of data transparency and issues regarding parental consent associated with minors' accounts.
