The Netherland's data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, called for its budget to increase to 100 million euros, indicating its expansion "is necessary for citizens and businesses in our rapidly digitizing society." The AP pitched for increased funding in its May position paper, adding that the DPA's growth will "fulfill the pioneering role that suits us" in relation to the digital economy.
