The Dutch data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, has published a draft decision approving the Data Pro Code for Nederland ICT, a trade association comprised of information technology, telecommunication and internet companies. The DPA has ruled that the organizations and their data processors can join the code of conduct, which works to inform clients on security measures, processing agreements, rights of data subjects and data breaches. The DPA also noted that any code of conduct must pass their requirements and be prepared to form an accredited supervisory body. Stakeholders have until the end of September to submit opinions on the decision. (Original article is in Dutch.)
