U.S. Congress' recently passed infrastructure bill has a lot of privacy implications to unpack, including a new mandate requiring vehicle manufacturers to add passive monitoring systems to identify a drunk driver, Gizmodo reports. While the implementation is at least five years down the road, cars are now adding small steps to help prevent alcohol-related incidents. Questions arose regarding user privacy, particularly in the case of false positives curbing civil liberties and what data regarding the car's driver would be stored.
