The Wall Street Journal reports EU data protection authorities are taking more action to limit issues regarding organizations' employee-monitoring practices. Recent actions showing this focus include a 10.4 million euro fine handed down by Germany's State Commissioner for Data Protection in Lower Saxony for employee monitoring, while Denmark's Datatilsynet and Albania's Information and Data Protection Commissioner have also focused on issues with monitoring. UNI Europa Regional Secretary for Europe Oliver Roethig opined that EU regulators should look to clarify how certain technologies can be deployed as they evolve.
