CNET reports the U.S. Department of Justice released an updated policy for the use of unmanned aircraft systems. The revised policy provides a framework for federal law enforcement, as well as state and local authorities, to "safely and responsibly" use drones for "investigations, search and rescue, and security." The policy also provides guidance on how to use the drones while protecting privacy and civil liberties, including how long data can be retained. Meanwhile, Xinhua reports the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority will lift a ban on drones in 2020.
