The Wall Street Journal reports the U.S. Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google's parent company, Alphabet, seeking to break up its digital advertising business. Eight state attorneys general joined the DOJ in accusing Google of monopolization while seeking to cancel acquisitions and halt the company's ad exchange that supports the alleged dominance. A Google spokesperson said the suit "attempts to pick winners and losers in the highly competitive advertising technology sector."
