Documents obtained by NBC News show Facebook gave certain partners access to user data while it denied access to other entities. The 7,000 pages of documents include 4,000 internal Facebook communications sent from 2011 to 2015. Of the pages of documents, 1,200 are marked “highly confidential.” The documents show Facebook allowed companies to access users’ friends, photos and relationship data. Facebook did not respond for comment. Meanwhile, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has asked the San Francisco County Superior Court to order Facebook to comply with investigations into the tech company’s data practices.
