Only 30 small businesses have access to the Department of Homeland Security’s Automated Indicator Sharing cyberthreat-notification program, although more than 100 have signed up for the service, FedScoop reports. At a House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies hearing June 15, the committee looked to measure progress of the tool six months after implementation. The hearing also found that many larger businesses have yet to be totally convinced of the service’s worthiness, the report states. DHS countered that many of these criticisms were due to the program’s youth and subsequent growing pains. Regardless, with cybersecurity sharing tools like AIS “the country as a whole will be better able to manage cyber threats," said DHS spokesman Bob Davis.
