The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Lisa Pino will serve as director of the Office for Civil Rights. Pino most recently served as the New York State Department of Health’s Executive Deputy Commissioner and is a former senior executive service official appointed by former President Barack Obama. HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said Pino’s “breadth of experience and management expertise” will “ensure that we protect the rights of every person across the country as we work to build a healthier America.”
