Chilean digital rights organization Derechos Digitales together with the Electronic Frontier Foundation have released a new report on the privacy practices of the nation's internet service providers. The report evaluates how ISPs respond to government requests for access to user data. "While there's definitely room for improvement," the EFF states, "the first edition of the Chilean ¿Quién Defiende Tus Datos? (Who Defends Your Data?) report has some hopeful indicators." According to the EFF, "Chileans go online more than any other nationality in Latin America," putting some of their most sensitive information online. "That means that Chileans are more likely to be putting their trust in their providers to defend their data than anyone else in Central or South America," the EFF adds.
