Michelle Dennedy, CIPP/US, CIPM, is Cisco’s new VP and CPO, CRN reports. Dennedy discusses the current state of privacy and vendors. “Privacy engineering is taking a new definition of privacy that does not mean secrecy or shame or hiding away,” said Dennedy, who is a member of the IAPP Board of Directors, adding, “It means the authorized processing of personally identifiable information according to fair principles.” Before joining Cisco, Dennedy was VP and CPO at McAfee/Intel Security. She also was VP of security and privacy at Oracle and spent nearly 10 years as CPO at Sun Microsystems.
