Denmark's data protection authority, Datatilsynet, announced it joined the Danish National Police and the Attorney General's Office in drafting an explanatory guide for fines related to data breaches. The guide outlines six categories of violations and their financial penalties, which can be adjusted based on circumstances of the breach. Authorities hope the guide will provide "greater transparency about how the supervision determines the size of the fine."
