U.K. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham wrote a blog promoting how the U.K. data protection regime can bolster public trust related to COVID-19 vaccine passports. As the U.K. warms to concepts for vaccine certification, Denham said it's "exactly the right time for (the ICO) to be involved" in the planning of the certification scheme. Denham added organizations processing data for the scheme "would be responsible for using that personal data appropriately," adding "while these schemes may be new, the principles are the same."
