An annual security assessment by Estonia’s Foreign Intelligence Service anticipates Russian special services “are likely to exploit deepfake technology,” Euractiv reports. “This threat will be particularly high once technological development reaches a level where deepfakes are convincing enough to be unrecognisable to the human eye,” the report said, which calls Russia the EU’s “primary” cybersecurity threat.
