Hogan Lovells released the Asia Pacific Data Protection and Cyber Security Guide 2019 in which it takes a look at 2018, makes predictions for the year ahead, and provides a country-by-country look at data protection developments. While noting, “As always, we should expect the unexpected,” the report highlights China’s implementation of its Cyber Security Law, India’s development of a new data protection law, and the implementation of Japan’s “equivalency” agreement with the EU as key initiatives to watch in 2019.
