Twenty-year-old Irish entrepreneur Shane Curran’s data privacy startup, Evervault, raised $16 million in an investment round, including support from former Facebook Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos, CNBC reports. Curran said Stamos supports Evervault’s premise that privacy should be built into apps from the beginning. The software, currently in the development phase, is aimed at companies in the technology, financial and health care sectors. Curran called Evervault a “privacy cage” that processes sensitive data in an encrypted way.
