Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission said the number of data breach alerts tripled in February through March over the previous two months, The Straits Times reports. The rise could partly be due to a new 1 Feb. mandate requiring companies to report data breaches to the PDPC within three days. The PDPC said alerts came from organizations, including those in the finance, retail and manufacturing sectors, and compromised data included names, email addresses, financial details and addresses.
