An unprotected database for movie ticket subscription service MoviePass has exposed more than 161 million user records, TechCrunch reports. While some of the records were just messages used to run the service, an undisclosed number included MoviePass customer card numbers and personal credit card numbers with expiration dates. In related news, News4Jax reports there is a new phishing scam targeting victims of the Equifax data breach “mimics the real claims process.” Meanwhile, the Texas Department of Information Resources has revealed a “single threat actor” was responsible for a series of ransomware attacks on small local governments, The Hill reports.
