- Denmark’s data protection authority, Datatilsynet, found grocery store company Coop Danmark did not comply with necessary security measures under the Data Protection Ordinance in processing personal information in the company’s shared drive. The company said personal information concerning 477 employees and external consultants was located in its shared drive.
- The Danish DPA also found the North Jutland Region could have exposed half a million data subjects’ personal data to unauthorized persons through a vulnerability in a self-service solution. The DPA criticized the region for not implementing appropriate security measures.
- The Hellenic Data Protection Authority in Greece, issued guidance on access to information for candidates in the Democratic Socialists of America elections.
- Norway’s data protection authority, Datatilsynet, continues to investigate the Norwegian Prison and Probation Service’s compliance with privacy regulations. The DPA is conducting an on-site inspection, and initiating an audit and subsequent report that will form the basis for any sanctions by the DPA.
- Germany's Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information professor Ulrich Kelber said the Bonn Regional Court ruled telecommunications communications company 1&1 is liable for infringement of the EU General Data Protection Regulation due to insufficient security measures.
