The proposed State and Local Government Cybersecurity Act now heads to U.S. President Joe Biden for his signature after passing the House, Nextgov reports. The bill, which directs the Department of Homeland Security to improve information sharing with state, local and tribal governments, passed the Senate in January. Under the legislation, federal cybersecurity officials are required to share breach data with states and localities and provide recovery resources in the event of cyberattacks. It also requires the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to give state and local governments access to cybersecurity tools and policies.
