In June of this year, Dan McCue started an internship at the IAPP as the University of Maine School of Law’s inaugural privacy fellow. His goal was to spend the summer helping the IAPP’s data protection officer, Rita Heimes, CIPP/US, CIPM, work toward IAPP compliance with the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (effective May 2018). There was only one problem: He was completely new to the GDPR. Thus, he worked first to understand the text, highlighting and reorganizing and outlining along the way. In the end, his work turned into a great introductory resource. So, with a little HTML wizardry, we now present what we're calling "The GDPR in 20 Minutes," which McCue outlines in this post for DPO Confessional.
