Massachusetts’ fully automated tool booth system will include a “hot list” element, which could “flag and track” certain cars, Fortune reports. Critics like the American Civil Liberties Union have asked the Department of Transportation to explain what merits “hot list” inclusion and the details surrounding the agency’s data collection and storage. The Department of Transportation said it would flesh out those details during a meeting held on Aug. 22, whose details remain unpublicized. It also added that it’s “committed to ensuring the privacy of all motorists,” a recent statement read. “All data collected will remain secure and kept confidential.”
