Credit reporting agency TransUnion is testing token-based technology to encrypt customers' sensitive data so it is not visible when a third party requests a credit report, Axios reports. TrueZero, created by Spring Labs, encrypts the sensitive data, including personally identifiable information, in tokens before it is viewed by a third party. Spring Labs CEO John Sun said sensitive information entails "anything that's used universally as an identifier for that customer."
