South Korea’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak is raising privacy questions, according to Yahoo News. Authorities have been issuing emergency alerts to cellphones of those living or working in areas where new cases are confirmed and individuals’ schedules, residences and employers have been posted online, enabling them to be identified. The National Human Rights Commission said these are “human rights violations,” adding, “We can't help but worry about the situation where the confirmed patients become subject to secondary damages, such as being criticised, ridiculed and abhorred online.”
