U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman ruled an Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act suit against Clearview AI will be sent back to the state court it was originally filed to, Reuters reports. Clearview had argued the suit should remain in the federal courts, along with other suits filed against the company. The ruling stemmed from the plaintiffs' desire to collect statutory damages rather than claiming they had suffered an injury-in-fact.
