- The District Court of Bonn, Germany, ordered the EU General Data Protection Regulation fine against 1&1 Telecom to be reduced from 9.55 million euros to 900,000 euros, BankInfoSecurity reports. The court decided 1&1's violations that led to the original fine were "minor." The telecom said it may seek further reduction.
- Italy's data protection authority, the Garante, announced a 12.25 million euro fine against Vodafone for violating the GDPR. The Garante found Vodafone did not obtain consumer consent for telemarketing calls while it also breached GDPR principles on accountability and privacy by design.
