The Council of Europe’s Committee of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data, or Convention 108, adopted new guidelines for children's data protection in an education setting. According to the committee, the guidelines aim to give full respect to the rights to "information, to representation, to participation, and to privacy." The committee hopes legislators and policymakers can uphold rights through the fundamental principles laid out in the guidance.
