  • The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner announced its six-month review of the privacy safeguards associated with the country's COVIDSafe application. Commissioner Angelene Faulk said the app underwent "a robust assessment program to audit the handling of personal information in the COVIDSafe system."
  • New Zealand Privacy Commissioner John Edwards released a statement welcoming the removal of the registration requirement from the NZ COVID Tracer app. Edwards said such "privacy-friendly contact tracing techniques" increases the likelihood that citizens will want to "contribute to the public health effort to identify and stamp out COVID-19 transmission."
