Hackers targeted Conservative Sen. Linda Frum as the victim of a recent attack, CTV News reports. The hackers accessed Frum’s Twitter account, sharing personal information and photographs of her driver's license. Citing political dissatisfaction, the hackers noted that they “don’t appreciate corrupt politicians” just days after hackers turned to Twitter to target German politicians. Elections Canada Chief Electoral Officer Stephane Perrault and Commissioner of Elections Yves Cote both warned that omnibus Bill C-76, which was introduced to modernize election laws and curb political hacking, might not do much to slow such attempts.
