Vice reports on the existence of an industry of companies focused on reversing mobile user anonymization. The companies, which include BIGDBM and FullContact, take mobile advertising IDs and work to connect them with personally identifiable information. BIGDBM CEO Brad Mack indicated his company can link the IDs to names, physical addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, IP addresses and more. U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., expressed concerns about the industry in question and said that is a reason why he has "proposed strong consumer privacy legislation."
