Following a Bloomberg report stating Chinese spies were able to compromise the U.S. technology supply chain with malicious hardware, multiple companies, including Apple and Amazon Web Services, have come forward to deny any attack, Reuters reports. Super Micro Computer, which was identified as the supplier of infected server boards, also denied the report. Shares of Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo, Chinese telecoms equipment maker ZTE and the IT hardware sector sub-index on the Hong Kong stock exchange dipped as fears rose over the impact of the hack report. While China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond for comment, the government has previously denied allegations of orchestrating cyberattacks against foreign countries.
