The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce of Colombia has announced it is formally investigating 29 investigations into political campaigns' handling of personal data. Thirty-eight complaints were filed between the cities of Bogotá, Medellín, Popayán and Soacha. A majority of the complaints center around the use of personal information without a data subject's consent. All campaigns received guidance from the SIC in July on how to properly handle personal data.
