Colombia’s data protection authority, the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, ordered TikTok to implement measures that comply with data protection standards. The authority said it found TikTok breaches 47% of requirements within Colombian regulation and does not comply with 58% of requirements regarding obtaining individuals’ authorization before their personal data is collected and used. If TikTok does not meet the standards, it could result in administrative sanctioning and fines.
