Colombia's data protection authority, the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, issued fines totaling 569,890,035 pesos to three companies for data protection violations related to consent. Banco de Bogotá incurred the stiffest penalty, a 351,120,627 peso fine, for using an individual's data without consent or any prior business with the individual. Almacenes Éxito and Éxito Industrias received fines of 145,846,272 and 72,923,136 pesos, respectively, for refusing a customer's request to be removed from marketing emails and continuing to process their personal information without consent.
