Colombia’s data protection authority, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, will review TikTok’s compliance with laws regulating the collection and treatment of children’s personal data, Reuters reports. The regulator said in a statement it is looking to see if TikTok “has demonstrably implemented the principle of responsibility in the treatment of data from Colombian citizens who use its services,” adding Colombia’s constitution includes special protections for minors.
