A lawsuit has been brought against College Board over claims that it sold the data of more than 5 million students, EdScoop reports. According to a filing at the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Illinois, nonprofit exam developer and administrator allegedly collected and sold student data from its Student Search Survey without obtaining consent for either action. "Between (Sept.) 1, 2016 through the present, Defendant College Board charged between $0.42 and $0.47 per student name sold to a third-party organization,” the plaintiffs wrote in their filing, adding College Board's actions went against its own privacy claims.
