Cognigo, a startup focused on using artificial intelligence and machine learning to protect data, announced it has raised $8.5 million in a Series A round of funding, TechCrunch reports. The startup claims it can help a company comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation in days rather than months. In using pre-trained language models for data classification, Cognigo states it can provide data protection solutions without hands-on management. “The only human intervention required is during the systems configuration process, which would take no longer than a single day’s work,” a company spokesperson said. “Apart from that, the system is completely human-free.”
