France’s data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, opened a public consultation on its updated recommendations on secure password management in the context of increasing threats to data security. The public consultation is open until Dec. 3. The CNIL said the recommendations give professionals minimum security measures for password authentication, addresses password management policy issues and operational methods, as well as methods for storing and renewing passwords.
